Portable Door Lock for Travel with Alarm

We used this during a cruise and also use when we stay at hotels. This gives additional security. Making it unable for someone to use a hanger or similar device to reach under door and open. The alarm give additional warning if tampered with or the door is being messed with. We found it to be extremely easy to use while adding security to our room.

I really like how this secondary lock has everything I wanted. I took a trip not long ago where the desk clerk at the hotel assigned my room to a couple well after I'd checked in. They attempted to access my room about 2 hours after I'd gone to bed and, strange as it may seem, the door actually opened for them. I jumped from bed and demanded to know what was happening. They apologized and got another room. However, that episode taught me the value of having an item just like this. I started looking and found a number with one feature or another but not one with everything I wanted. Then along came this one. Not only will it securely lock your hotel door but it also has an alarm! How cool is that? I plan to use it on my next trip to add a great layer of peace of mind in staying in a hotel. You simply place the locking tab in the hole and close the door and then place the lock on the tab. Very simple and should hold just fine. The added security piece is the alarm should someone try to force the door.This security device has everything I wanted/needed and have been looking for.

I tested this locking mechanism with my door to the garage and it seemed to work great to fit in the latch and strike plate. The lock pin sits securely in the metal claw part to black the door from opening.The alarm didn't take too much time to charge and the siren is quite piercing... as designed. However, I don't know if I'll being using that function. It is nice to have the option though.After examining the mechanism of this portable lock, I believe i will be taking this on my trips to use on the hotel door or cruise ship door. On the other hand, I still can't help but think someone may still be clever enough to wedge a wire coat hanger or thin metal bar into the door seam and pop up and off the lock pin like a hooked door latch. I know I'm overthinking this, but it would be nice to create a groove or gear mechanism on the lock to wedge thenlock pin in, maybe...Otherwise, this lock works as designed, everything(lock, instructions, charging cord) goes in a nice little pouch and takes little room in the luggage.

I find this lock perfect for giving me additional peace of mind while staying at Airbnbs where I only have a private room but share the common areas with the host. With this lock, there is no way for the host (or anyone else for that matter) to enter your room while you are inside. Haven't used the alarm feature but it's nice that the battery is rechargeable via usb-c. One thing to mention is that if the latch side of the door is not perfectly cut out (like shown in my picture), the security lock will not fit.
